Armadillo Gallery was founded in 2018 with a clear intention and focus on offering a space for sound based art in Leipzig. Drawing from and supporting a wide array of various artists from various backgrounds, Armadillo offers both artists and audiences a space for contemplation and participation. Initiated by Antje Goerner and Bernhard Haas of the TAKT group, their goal has been to create a platform for both local and international artists who share their commitment to artistic exchange and love for sound art.

In the past and contemporarily, TAKT has been prolifically engaged in hosting community oriented residencies, workshops on a multitude of topics, artist talks and both visual and sonic exhibitions. Armadillo is a continued step of TAKT’s mission for fostering and enabling continuous social dialogue and action through the guises of sound art.
